Use case
Elections & real-world events
Outcomes anchored to an official record, not a jury.
The problem
Election and event markets are where centralized resolution breaks down most visibly — the 2024 cycle produced multi-day arguments over what an ambiguously worded market actually meant. The failure is upstream: the market was drafted loosely and resolved by discretion.
How Mentat does it
Mentat forces the ambiguity out at draft time. The Draft agent writes an explicit trigger condition and invalidation clause; the Validator agent rejects criteria that cannot be checked against a named source; the curator signs off. Resolution then reads an official result page or API via zkTLS. Discretion is designed out, not litigated after the fact.
A concrete example
Market question
Will the official electoral commission API report candidate A as certified winner of district 12 by the deadline?

Official government/electoral APIs, canonical wire services
The Draft agent writes the resolution criteria and invalidation clause; the Validator agent rejects anything a source can't attest to; a curator signs off; a zkTLS proof settles it on Solana. See how it works.
