About
Built by a team that distrusts arbiters.
Mentat is the prediction market protocol Cryptuon wished existed. We watched the 2024 Polymarket settlement disputes, we watched Augur die of friction, and we watched Kalshi narrow its scope down to whatever the CFTC permits. The answer, we think, is not better arbiters — it is fewer of them.
zkTLS lets a smart contract verify that a TLS session against api.coingecko.com returned a specific JSON body at a specific time. There is no jury. There is a proof. For mechanically-resolvable markets — price thresholds, official API responses, public feeds — that is enough.
The AI pipeline exists for the other half of the problem: authoring quality markets is hard, slow, and gates the long tail of useful prediction markets behind expert specialists. A DSPy Scout → Draft → Validator chain turns a one-line idea into a vetted spec in fifteen seconds. Curators stay in the loop because AI is excellent at first drafts and unreliable at edge cases.

Principles
Open source forever
Apache-2.0. We do not run a closed cloud edition. We do not paywall features.
Cryptographic over consensual
A proof beats a vote. A vote beats a press release. A press release beats nothing.
Curators are infrastructure
AI generates, humans gate. We do not pretend the loop is closeable. We invest in the human side.
Solana-native economics
Sub-cent fees, sub-second confirms, real user UX. Ethereum L1 priced out the long tail; we do not.
